Service Repositories

Every component registered in the Apothesource Backstage catalog, with the Coderepo (Bitbucket) repository that holds its source and the URI to use with git clone.

Git access to Coderepo requires a Bitbucket username and token. If you haven’t set yours up yet, see Token and Environment Configuration.

Onboarding credentials work for Git, not the Coderepo website

If you’re using the Bitbucket username and token from the onboarding team, you can clone, pull, and push with Git from a terminal or your IDE, but you can’t use them to sign in to the Coderepo website. Signing in requires your own VA Crowd account, which is set up after you receive your PIV card.

Until then, use the clone URIs in the table below. You don’t need to open Coderepo in a browser to clone a service.

Cloning a Service

To clone every repository in your team’s Backstage system at once, run ngss-dev-setup.sh clone --system ckm (see Setup Script).

Copy the clone URI from the table below and pass it to git clone:

git clone https://coderepo.mobilehealth.va.gov/scm/eas/acheron.git

Git names the new directory after the repository, which doesn’t always match the Backstage component name. For example, acheron-service-v1 is cloned into acheron/.

Finding a Clone URI in Backstage

Backstage is the source of truth for this list. If a service isn’t in the table (for example, it was registered after the table was last generated), you can work out its clone URI from Backstage:

  1. Open the component in Backstage, for example acheron-service-v1.

  2. On the About card, click View Source. This opens the repository in Coderepo, for example https://coderepo.mobilehealth.va.gov/projects/EAS/repos/acheron/browse/.

    If you can’t sign in to Coderepo yet, right-click View Source and copy the link instead of opening it. The next step only needs the URL.

  3. Take the project key (EAS) and repository name (acheron) from that URL, and build the clone URI with the project key in lowercase:

    https://coderepo.mobilehealth.va.gov/scm/<project-key>/<repository>.git

    For acheron-service-v1, that’s https://coderepo.mobilehealth.va.gov/scm/eas/acheron.git.

If you can sign in to Coderepo, you can also copy the HTTP URL from the Clone button on the repository’s page.

Use View Source rather than the Documentation or README links on a component’s Backstage page. A few components still have links that point to an old or placeholder (SET_ME) project, but View Source points to the repository Backstage actually reads the component from.

Only components registered in Backstage are listed. Libraries and tooling repositories aren’t Backstage components, so look for them in Coderepo directly. Clone URIs for the ones you’re most likely to need:
